B.C.I. at the Provincial Debate Championships - March 26, 2011

Alexander Rey and Erica Wilson competed at the Provincial Debate Championships in Markham this weekend. Against some very challenging, very polished and very experienced debaters Erica and Alexander held their ground and were able to win 3 of their 5 debates.
After 2 prepared rounds, they had to debate 3 additional impromptu debates which proved very challenging. Losing only to the top teams, Erica and Alexander were not able to secure a finalist position. After only three years in the Ontario Student Debate Union circuit, Alexander and Erica were able to rise quickly to the top of this region and became forces to be reckoned with.
As coaches of the debate team Ms. Mathews, Ms. Cameron and Mr. Utting are incredibly proud of this team for their accomplishment in being the only representatives from Brantford at the Provincials. Please congratulate Erica and Alexander for their very significant achievement this year
