To be admitted to the BCI-WLU (Laurier Brantford) Program, all of the
following must be successfully completed:
- Application Form.
- Reference Package from Grade 8 Teacher.
- Letter from Applicant.
- 1-2 Letters of Reference.
- Laurier Workshop at BCI.
- Gates-McGinitie Literacy Test.
- Interview, if required by the selection committee.
- Recommended Grade 8 average of 80% with no failures.
Application packages become available around January of each year. They
can be obtained from the BCI main office, or by visiting the
Grade 8
Application Form page. Applications are usually due in February or March
that same year.
All applicants must write a letter explaining why they are applying to
the program. The letter should include the strengths that the applicant
will bring to the program, a situation in which the applicant has taken
a leadership role, and how the program will help the applicant achieve
his or her educational goals.
All applicants will be expected to attend a half-day workshop which will
allow them to demonstrate their creativity, leadership, teamwork, and
presentation skills.
