How to Convert Word Processing files to Rich Text Format (RTF)
- If using Microsoft Word,
choose “File,” “Save As,” and from the “Save As Type” pulldown menu at the bottom, choose “Rich
Text Format”
- If using Word Perfect,
choose “File,” “Save As,” and from the “File Type” pulldown menu at the bottom, choose “Rich
Text Format (RTF)”
- If using a word processor other than the two listed above, you will have to experiment with some variation of the above instructions. If your word processor will not save as RTF, saving as ASCII text or DOS text can also be read by most word processors, though some of the formatting may be lost.
To use your Mac laptop with an LCD projector
- hook up projector
- click the apple in the top left corner, choose
system preferences
- choose the 'Displays' tab (under hardware)
- choose the 'Detect Displays' button on the right
hand side
- depending on your OS version, you may need to
choose 'mirror displays'. These instructions were created for OSX 10.5.8
To make flash buttons/objects display properly on the web when you get an
error message about 'security settings':
- unfortunatley this is a setting related to individual user profiles. Each
user must complete the following steps for flash buttons etc. to display
properly for them:
- When you get the error message about security settings, choose the tab
that says 'settings'
- on the adobe page, a
small box will appear on the right hand side of the screen that looks like
a control panel. The Global Security Settings
- choose "Always Allow"
- apply changes. You will
need to restart your web browser for the new settings to take effect.
