 Arts' Night:
 a talent show displaying students' musical, dramatic and artistic abilities. Arts' Night is organized and run by Ms. Woods and Ms. Spencer.

 Badminton:  

                 - Club:  Runs from late October to early May, run by Mr. Shoup and Mr. Vaughan.

                  - Team:  Runs from February to May, coached by Mr. Ens, Mr. Shoup, and Mr. Smith.

 Basketball:

Prayer Meetings:  Students meet every morning to pray together in Room 250, from about 8:35 until the bell. Run by Mr. Preston - - everyone welcome.

 Blood Donor Group:  Members volunteer at every Blood Donor Clinic during the school year. Volunteer hours can be earned.

 

 Cheerleading:  Runs all year

 Chess Club:  Runs mostly in the spring, led by Mr. Shoup.

 Commencement Chamber Ensemble:  The school band, performs at Commencement, school concerts, Arts' Night, etc. Led by Ms. Spencer.

 Cross Country:  Runs first semester, September and October. Coached by Mrs. MacLeod, Mr.Dorland


 DREAM Program:  A program for students whose parents have not attended college/university; a 4-year program resulting in $1500 for post-secondary education. For more information visit the DREAM website here.

 DSS Press:  Writes weekly articles that may be printed in the Dunnville Chronicle. Articles are written by Ms. Maciuk's grade 12 English class, runs all year. Visit the DSS Press page here.

 DSS ROCKS:  A group organized to help and improve the community, sometimes includes trips. Runs all year, led by Mrs. MacLeod, Mrs. Weaver.

 

 Europe Trip:  A trip to Europe in 2011, run by Mrs. Green-Johnson and Mrs Weaver.
                       

 Field Hockey:  Girls field hockey September to November, coached by Marian Kuiper-Lampman. Staff supervisors include Ms. Vickers and Mrs. Bell

 Golf:  Runs September to October, coached by Mr. Dockrill.


 Hawaii Trip:  A trip for the summer of 2009 Girls Volleyball Team, to Hawaii. Will be run in 2010, led by Ms. Priestman.

 High School Challenge Team:  A group of Grade 12 students who compete at the annual High School Challenge meet at the Caledonia Fair. Students can come watch and support the Panthers as they compete in Battle of the Bands and many fun relays. (Congrats to the 2008 DSS team, the High School Challenge Champions!)

 Hockey:

                 - Boys:  All grades welcome. Tryouts early November, season lasts until late February, coached by Mr. Mowat and Mr. McCormack. $100 tournament entry fee required, or $100 from a sponsor acquired by the athlete (sewn on the back of player's jersey, by the athlete).

 Math Contest:  For students of any age, boys and girls welcome. Run by Mr.Preston
 

Philosophy Club:  The newest club at DSS, it is run by Mr. Ens all year round.

 Power lifting:  Coached by Mr Ens. Season runs from late January to early April.

 

 Prom Committee:  Students and teachers plan all aspects of prom. Run by Ms. Todorovic. This year's prom will be on June 4 2010, more details to come.

 Reach for the Top:  A team that competes in Jeopardy-style trivia competitions. Run by Ms. Maciuk.


 

 Score Keepers:  Students that attend sports events and volunteer to keep score. Volunteer hours given.

 Sears Festival Drama Club:  Run once each year; a student-written play is rehearsed, then performed at the Sears Festival in Port Dover in March. Cast tryouts at the beginning of each year; club run by Mrs. Drost.

 Ski Club:  Run during the winter, run by Mr. Ens. Several ski trips, no experience required.

 Soccer:

 Softball/Slow Pitch:  Girls team only. Coached by Mr. Lohrum, runs from early April to late May.

 Student Council:  The "student government"; students run for student council at the end of the school year, to be chosen for the following year's council. The student council organizes school events such as dances, fundraisers, etc. The current staff advisors are Ms. Todorovic, Mrs. McMahon, and Ms. Haupt.

 Suicide Intervention Team:  Works to raise awareness and prevention of teen suicide. Before becoming members, students or teachers take the ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) training course. Events such as dinners and the annual Hockey Buyout are held for fundraising.

 Tabloid Day:  A fun day for grade nines, run by many senior students and teachers. Runs one day in September.

 TEAM Team:  Raises funds and awareness for charitable events, and also helps out in the community. Run by Mr. Preston, year round.

 Tennis:  Coached by Mr. Shoup, runs from September to late October.

Track and Field:  Coached by Mr. Boyd (throwing and running) and Ms. Dykstra (jumping). Training begins in March, season runs May to June.

 

 Vocal Ensemble:  School choir that performs at concerts, assemblies, Commencement, etc. Runs all year, led by Ms. Spencer.

 Weightlifting Club:  Recreational fitness club, meets after school in weight cage and/or cardio room from 3:15 to 4:30, Monday to Friday, all year. Membership is $10 for the whole year. Run by Mr. Ens.

 Wrestling:  Coached by Mr. Smith, season runs from November to March.

 Yearbook Committee:  Puts together the yearbook plans, layouts and photos, etc. Runs year round. Staff advisors include Miss Weaver, Mr. McMahon, Ms. Maciuk, and Mr. McCormack.
