G.E.L.A. provides an alternative learning environment that allows students to experience success and improve self-concept which will facilitate re-entry to education or the workplace.

Staff will provide a program to meet student needs. Our programs are mainly at Applied, College and Workplace levels with an emphasis on Literacy, Numeracy and Employment skills.

Students must attend regularly, participate in the lessons and complete learning tasks and assignments to the best of their ability. That may mean asking for help and/or doing homework if work is not completed in class.

Parents can help by ensuring that the students attend and by showing an interest in their achievement. Talk to teachers and keep us informed of anything that will help. Attendance is important. Please help by calling if s/he will not be attending or will need to leave at some point during class time.

Note: Because we are a small school, we are unable to provide all courses students will need to graduate. Young students and those who require academic courses, higher level math and science or specialized courses will need to go back to the regular school to complete their diploma.
