How
many credits do I need to complete my diploma?
Please
bring us a transcript of your marks from your previous schools.
Effective
October 1, 2004, all students new to ILC will be required to
have an educational assessment with the Guidance Counsellor at
G.E.L.A.,
for which there is a $30.00 (CASH) fee.
How
do Independent Learning Centre (I.L.C.) courses work?
You must be 18 years of age or older
and not attending secondary school.
If you are 18-20 years of age, you must have a "Date of Leaving" letter
and an Official Ontario transcript for your request.
The
Independent Study courses are offered through the Grand Erie Learning
Alternatives
and use the I.L.C. course materials.
There
are no classes to attend. You work through the lessons independently at
home, and submit them for marking by a secondary school teacher from
the
area.
The
teacher will not only mark your lessons, but will be available to
provide
tutorial assistance. If you are having difficulties with a lesson, the
marker/tutor is available to talk to by phone or in person.
There
are 20 lessons to complete for a full credit. Each lesson book contains
5
lessons.
We will explain how each course works as you select it.
How
do I sign up?

your transcript and a $35.00 deposit (CASH ONLY) to G.E.L.A. Fill out
