RESPECT FOR PROPERTY

Students are expected to treat the school grounds, the building, and everything in the school with the same respect that they would give to their own personal property.

There is much pride taken in this school by the community, by school staff, and by the vast majority of its students. Our custodial staff are nothing less than excellent in their constant attention to repair. It is expected that all students will help to keep it tidy and in good repair and thereby share in the pride others have in it.

In order to keep the building and the grounds clean, students are expected to eat all their food in the cafeteria or other designated areas. Smoking in the school or on the grounds is not permitted because of health, legal and fire regulations.

Students who eat food in areas other than those designated will be warned. Students who continue to eat in non designated areas are generally assigned cleanup duty.

Students who destroy or deface school property, or property belonging to others, will be required to pay the cost of repair or replacement. Destruction of school property may result in suspension or expulsion and possible police action.

Students who lose or damage texts or school equipment must cover the cost of replacement or repair.

ACADEMIC DISHONESTY

Students attempting to deceive teachers and gain marks unfairly by cheating on tests or exams, or by offering someone else’s work as their own, will receive a mark of "0" for that particular test, exam, or assignment, their parents will be notified, and a suspension may result.

Plagiarism is a serious academic offence. It may result in loss of the credit and will jeopardize the student’s eligibility for bursaries, scholarships and other awards.

BUSES

Students are responsible to the principal, teachers and bus driver while riding on the bus.

The bus driver has a great responsibility, particularly when the bus is loaded. Therefore, appropriate conduct is expected in order that the driver can give his/her full attention to safe driving.

Students who misbehave on the bus will be warned. Repeated misbehaviour will result in suspension of transportation privileges. Detailed bus regulations are available from the vice-principal.

THEFT

Theft within the school is regarded in the same manner as it is in society in general. Students found guilty of theft will be turned over to the police and their parents will be notified. Restitution will be sought.
